SPELL PROJECT: Sustainable Practices for English Language Learners

Project SPELL is a five-year “National Professional Development” grant sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA). The project is a partnership between Western Oregon University and two highly diverse Oregon school districts: Salem-Keizer and Woodburn. It is focused on high-impact practices that help all students learn, with particular focus on serving the academic needs of English Language Learners. Targeted professional development activities are offered in the STEM areas.
